Fully funded Academy places now available for September 2014

Wildcats Post 16 Academy fully funded places now available for September 2014.

Wildcats Post 16 Academy are about to start auditioning for places on their full time BTEC Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre or Dance which starts in September 2014.

The places are fully funded (16-19 and UK citizen) and are offered across Stamford and the surrounding areas to students who feel they would benefit from professional training. The course gives students the chance to gain a recognised qualification in a theatre school environment and transport can be arranged from all areas.   Students work towards performances not only locally but nationally including in some of the countries top theatres.  They also receive agency representation, show reels and head-shots and are given careers support and guidance throughout the two years.  Alongside this they take part in additional qualifications including RAD/ISTD and LAMDA.  T

he course, which is based in Stamford is a full time qualification equivalent to A Levels suitable for students aged 16-19 years.  Students take part in full scale musicals and West End shows alongside a packed timetable of performing arts classes. This opportunity usually attracts a high cost - studying the same course in London can cost upwards of £10,000 per year.  However Wildcats, in partnership with New College Stamford have developed a course that mirrors that of top London Theatre Schools, but without the fees that would usually be required.  There is also support available with transport to qualifying individuals.

Students who apply for the places would have to show 100% commitment to the training - the course is full time for two years and students can choose to specialise in either Dance or Musical Theatre. Wildcats are keen that these places go to students from across the area who would be unable to attend theatre school by any other means.

Caz Dolby, Owner of Wildcats said 'Our Full Time Academy students work hard over the 2 years to prepare themselves for entry into top university and theatre schools across the country.  The Wildcats Academy offers professional training but also a family atmosphere where support and encouragement are key to students success.'
