Little women set to be 'astonishing' in peterborough this march

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s own family experiences (and novel), Little Women follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart.  Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score with live music soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope—the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

The cast of 21 are all talented Musical Theatre performers who are about to take up places at some of the countries top theatre schools.  Jessica Wise, who plays Jo is a talented singer/performer and has recently taken her Grade 8 LAMDA examination, Chloe Lynch plays ‘Amy March’ and has an offer to study at Liverpool Theatre School as has Molly Tomlin who plays ‘Beth’.  ‘Meg’ is played by Hannah Wickham, who has been offered a place for September at both the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM).

Director, Kelly-Ann Gordon said ‘Little women, based upon Louisa May Alcott's beloved 19th century novel, vividly brings to life the March family of Concord, Massachusetts. In a time of war and sacrifice, Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth, guided by their mother Marmee, grow from girls into women, through romance and courtship, illness and loss, loving and letting go.  It has incredible songs including the classic ‘Astonishing’.  The cast have been a pleasure to direct and work with and we look forward to putting on an incredible show for all’.
