Work Experience Programme for 14 - 21 year olds
As part of the National Association of Youth Theatre's Excellence Scheme we are running a training programme for young people aged 14-21 years who want to learn more about working in theatre, gain new skills or perhaps just get a bit more confidence in everyday life.
The programme consists of the following:
A weekly class where young people learn how to assist, then teach Musical Theatre to children aged 4-14 years.
Opportunity to assist at Summer Schools, workshops and children's birthday parties.
Entry into the bronze or silver Arts Award programme or LAMDA Musical Theatre or Verse and Prose graded examinations (Exam fees are payable)
Training and development events such as child protection, first aid and LAMDA workshops
A volunteers CRB certificate if over 18 years old.
Bi-monthly youth leadership team meetings, where members can apply for funding, make decisions about the theatre school and manage the leadership teams budget.
Attendance at participation at a number of performances and events throughout the year, supporting younger children as well as the teaching staff
The opportunity to gain part time freelance work with the theatre school.
Volunteer hours towards schemes such as 'Duke of Edinburgh' and 'V' Award.
Support and guidance from Wildcats Theatre School staff, qualified youth and community workers and theatre professionals.
