Olli the Monkey meets the Wildcats

Wildcats Theatre School and Academy opened their doors to a large friendly monkey on Saturday morning as part of their commitment to developing work for children with additional needs in Stamford.

Olli the Monkey was created by the national award winning , Stamford based author Garry Slack, who has written a number of books including ‘The signing shining star’ nativity and ‘Sign with Olli’.  

The character was designed to help children learn and understand sign language, and Wildcats  have been working with Garry to put on specialist workshops in February half term at the Wildcats Academy in Stamford.

On Saturday, Olli came into the Mini Wildcat classes and met with the children.  He had some photographs taken and was also shown some of the sign language that children had learnt in Wildcat classes.

 Wildcats are runnnig workshops on Friday 22nd February which delivered by specialist staff including the creator of Olli himself, Garry. Families can from the following sessions - 09.30am - 10.45am, 11.00am - 12.15pm or 2.00pm - 3.15pm.  The workshops are suitable for children with additional needs including ASD at a cost of £2.00 per session per family. The sessions are subsidised by funding from Stamford TownCouncil.
