wILDCATS SWITCH ON LIGHTS IN OAKHAM

Wildcats Theatre School, with classes in Oakham and the surrounding areas took part in the Oakham Town Council Christmas lights switch on event on Sunday, 2nd December.

Wildcats Theatre School, with classes in Oakham and the surrounding areas took part in the Oakham Town Council Christmas lights switch on event on Sunday, 2nd December.

The school, who brought selected members of their performance team performed a number of solo and group numbers - the performance team consists of students from across the Wildcats Theatre School classes who have worked hard to reach the required level to perform at local and national events.  Recently they have performed for a number of festive lights events and on Sunday 9th December will also be entertaining and warming up the Burghley Santa Run.

Jacob Cullen, age 11 from Oakham and a student at Catmose College performed Winter Wonderland.  Jacob also appeared in the Bafta nominated short film ‘Wren Boys’ which was filmed in Rutland.   A regular performer at events Jacob said ‘I love performing, it’s my favourite thing to do, especially in my home town of Oakham! I also enjoy helping out with the younger children’s Wildcats class on a Monday after school. The lights in Oakham look wonderful and I can’t wait for the big day!’

Saskia Haley, age 10 from Oakham and a student at Brooke Hill Academy performed ‘I Believe from the Polar Express.'  She said 'I love going to Wildcats Theatre School and performing at events because it helps me to become more confident on and off the stage.’

Megan Jayne Thompson-Collins, age 12 from Ketton and a student at Bourne Grammar performed leading solos in two songs.  She said ‘It was an enjoyable experience to be part of the Wildcats team to perform at the Oakham lights turn on this afternoon. Great fun to sing to everybody present.'
