On Wednesday 15th October, students from the Wildcats Post 16 Academy performed an evening of Musical Theatre at Stamford Arts Centre Ballroom, The event, which was held to showcase the work of the Academy brought in a record number of guests, alongside the Mayor and Mayoress of Stamford.
The evening opened with a dance piece performed by the Wildcats very own elite dance troupe - The Wildcat Panthers. This was followed by a number of group and solo songs and performances including Money from Cabaret, Every Tear A Mother Cries from Honk! and Made In America from Bonnie and Clyde.
The evening was brought to a close by a powerful medley from the musical ‘Les Miserables’ which resulted in a standing ovation for the cast.
Clem Walden, Mayor of spoke at the event. ‘Never has the Stamford Arts Centre ballroom seen so much talent in one place at one time. I have supported Wildcats Academy from the start, and am always keen support the events they put on.’
Caz Dolby, of Wildcats said ‘Our yearly showcase event is always popular but this year we had record attendance - alongside parents there were a number of prospective students who are looking to join the Academy in 2015. We are pleased that they had such a great evening and look forward to welcoming them to our next show.’
